OpenX Geotargeting not working

Context 

Version: 2.8.8


Error

After installing OpenX self hosted ad server, Ads which are geo-targeted are not showing up


Solution

After wasting my time on searching the web and debuging the code i found that the issue is just that the MaxMind data file is outdated !! (2009)

Just download the latest binary DAT file (GeoIP.dat) from the MaxMind link below

http://www.maxmind.com/app/geolitecountry

And rename it to "FreeGeoIPCountry.dat" and then replace the old DAT file in the following path on the server

/www/openx/plugins/geoTargeting/oxMaxMindGeoIP/data

That's it

    Very little on the non-hosted OpenX limitations works, including Client - Browser, Geo - US/Canada Postal Code, Geo - Country / City ... one really gets the impression that the non-hosted software is created just to drive people crazy enough to pay for enterprise.

    Thank you for you help.

    I have the same problem but when I replace the DAT file, geo-targeted options dont work more.

    My Open X version is 2.8.10

    Any idea?
