Linux USB Modem disconnect, plug - unplug issue

Problem

USB Modem is disconnecting after sometime and does not appear again in Network Manager list !! i need to unplug/replug the USB Modem again to be able to see it in NetworkManager's list

Context: Huawei USB Modem on Ubuntu 11.10


Solution


run the following command and you will be able to connect again without unplugging

sudo service  network-manager restart

sudo wvdialconf
