VirtualBox Performance Tuning

Below are some steps i used to enhance my VirtualBox images

• Enable VT(Visualization) and Nested Paging in image settings

• Enable VT in the BIOS settings
  
• Assign 2 cpus
• Assign an appropriate amount of your host memory ( not > 50% ) to the guest image
  
• Tune the OS ( remove auto-start services and applications )
• Use SATA instead of IDE controller [http://www.jroller.com/agileanswers/entry/improving_virtualbox_performance]
  
• Defragment your desk
